MEN’S BREAKFAST

Any man is invited to a breakfast on Saturday, January 23. Our cook for the morning will be Bill Fielding and we will eat together at 7:30 am in the fellowship hall. We will enjoy conversation and planning some activities for 2010. We will conclude by 9:00 am but you can leave anytime. A signup sheet is posted on the church bulletin board.

Good Friday/Easter Cantata Rehearsals Begin Tuesday, January 26. The Chancel Choir will be offering a gift of praise to the Lord and for the enjoyment of our congregation and community on Good Friday and Easter Sunday morning. If you enjoy singing and would like to be a part of this program, we would love for you to join the group! The first rehearsal for the cantata “The Rose of Calvary” will be a “listening preview” of the program on Tuesday, January 26 at 7 pm. Weekly rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. We hope you will join with us – either in performance or attendance at the program! Please contact Sandy Anderson

Pastor’s Sunday Study Group: Norm invites any interested adult to join him in a look at the Koran and how it differs from the Bible. The Koran is the holy book for one-fifth of the world’s population and yet is a mystery to most of us. Norm will lead a discussion on Sunday mornings in February and March beginning on Sunday, February 7. The group will meet from 9:40-10:30 in the fellowship hall. The primary resource for the study will be Understanding the Koran: A Quick Christian Guide to the Muslim Holy Book by Mateen Elass. The purpose of the study is to increase our knowledge of the Koran and to see some of the distinctive differences between this book and the Bible.

Sweetheart Dinner: Norm returns to the kitchen to prepare and serve a special dinner for up to fifteen couples on Friday, February 19. The cost of the meal will be $25 per couple. The menu is expected to be: Cheddar Cheese Soup, Greens and Sprouts Salad, Boneless Pork Chops with bleu cheese dressing, Rum Glazed Squash, Green Beans, and Grandma Jackson’s Chocolate Pie.
